GANAMA has developed a comprehensive HSE management system consistent with that of international standards enabling contracts to be awarded from major international oil companies including Shell and Total.
The HSE management system underpins the GANAMA HSE policy endorsed by the Managing Director and recognises that the majority of accidents occurring in the workplace are caused by a failure in the management system. Failure often stems from the fact that HSE is not given the same priority as other business functions; GANAMA have made major efforts to reverse this trend and are committed to a process of continuous improvement.
In this regard a programme is underway for all GANAMA group companies to attain accreditation to the international environmental management standard ISO 14001 and the OSHAS standard 18001 for occupational health and safety.
MEMAC has an impressive safety record having worked over 15 million manhours without a lost time accident (safety award from Al Furat Petroleum Company).
